SAN DIEGO, Calif. (November 23, 2021) – A street sweeper crash on Mission Gorge Road in San Diego early Tuesday morning left one person with major injuries.

The two-vehicle collision happened just before 5 a.m. on Nov. 23rd in the 7300 block of Mission Gorge Road, according to a report by Fox 5 News.

A 34-year-old man driving a westbound on Mission Gorge Road in a car rear-ended the street sweeper as it drove through the Allied Gardens neighborhood, the report said.

The driver of a street sweeper suffered major injuries in the collision, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Paramedics responded to the scene where they located the 52-year-old man driving the street sweeper with major injuries including broken ribs, broken sternum and internal injuries, police said. They transported the injured man to a local hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the other diver in the car did not report any injuries at the scene.

Investigators seek to determine liability for the crash, but they do not suspect alcohol or drugs were a factor in the incident.
