STUDIO CITY, California (June 6, 2016) — A wrong-way driver died and another man was injured in a head-on crash with another motorist early Saturday morning in the westbound lanes of the US 101 Ventura Freeway, just west of Tujunga Avenue, a California Highway Patrol report said.
Richard Dominguez, 39, of Alhambra has been identified as the man who died in the collision about 4 a.m.
Police say Dominguez was heading eastbound in the No. 1 lane of the 101 freeway’s westbound traffic when he crashed into his 1997 Honda into another driver’s 2015 Lexus.
The wrong-way driver died of his injuries at the scene. The 27-year-old man driving the Lexus suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
