2 Killed, 3 Injured in Sun Valley Hit-and-Run at San Fernando and Lankershim
LOS ANGELES (April 12, 2019) – Two were killed and three others were injured after an alleged hit-and-run crash near San Fernando Road and Lankershim Boulevard in the Sun Valley neighborhood Friday evening.
The accident involving two vehicles occurred at about 7:10 p.m. in the 9000 block of San Fernando Road, near Lankershim Boulevard.
Police said the incident began when a Dodge Charger was seen traveling at a high rate of speed east on San Fernando Road, possibly racing a dark colored sedan.
At the same time, a Toyota Corolla was making a left turn from San Fernando Road to Lankershim Boulevard. The Corolla was then broadsided by the Charger.

Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the site and pronounced the two occupants of the Toyota dead at the scene.
According to reports by KTLA and CBS Los Angeles, police affirmed that the driver of the Dodge abandoned the car and ultimately fled on foot.
A 25-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman riding the speeding vehicle were taken to the hospital and were listed in serious condition. A third passenger was also hospitalized in fair condition.
The names of the deceased and wounded victims have not been yet released. The incident remains under investigation.
