SUNLAND, California (August 12, 2016) — Two men are dead and six were injured Friday afternoon in a deadly three-vehicle head-on crash in the 9200 block of La Tuna Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The crash was reported about 3:18 p.m. today in the Shadow Hills area. Paramedics responded to the scene of the violent crash and found two people had died and four others suffered major injuries with at least one was trapped and later airlifted to a hospital.
Los Angeles Daily News identified the deceased as Geghard Karami, 19, and Argisht Minasian, 31. Karami and Minasian were in a westbound Honda Civic which hit a Lexus traveling in the opposite direction.
The Honda spun and then collided with another Honda Civic in the westbound side of the road.
Two of the critically injured victims were men and two were juvenile boys. Two other men had minor injuries. A total of seven were taken to hospitals in ambulances with one of the injured declining necessary treatment.
Police stated that one of the drivers was a 19-year-old male. An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
