Multi-Vehicle Accident at Anderson Lane and Old Arcata Road Saturday
LOCATION: Sunny Brae, Humboldt County
DATE OF COLLISION: Saturday, October 27th
October 30, 2018 – A traffic collision occurred Saturday afternoon in the area of Anderson Lane and Old Arcata Road, according to the California Highway Patrol group.
The accident was logged on October 27 around 3:14 p.m.
Primary reports indicated about three vehicles collided, for reasons still under investigation, at the intersection.
At least one land ambulance was dispatched to the scene, officials said, but it was not immediately discussed if there were serious injuries as a result of the wreck.
The CHP continue to investigate the accident at this time. Liability in the crash is still being determined.

California Highway Patrol will carry out a forensic examination of all vehicles involved, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators draw up a firm conclusion for what happened. While it appears that the driver of the Honda will be held fully responsible for causing the accident, authorities will thoroughly look into how fast each driver was going, whether or not alcohol or drugs were involved, whether or not there were any mechanical issues with either vehicle, whether or not one of the drivers ran a red light or simply did not yield to the right of way motorist. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of each vehicle, skid marks, and gouge marks.
