1 Killeed in Sunnyvale Crash on Southbound Highway 101 Near Fair Oaks
SUNNYVALE, CA (August 29, 2021) – At least one was killed after a car crash on Highway 101 in Sunnyvale.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident occurred early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:10 a.m.
CHP said four vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Sunnyvale. They crashed on the southbound side of Highway 101, just south of Fair Oaks Avenue.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The incident log described the cars as two Honda Civic and a Subaru WRX. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then confirmed that one person died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. CHP did not mention if any other party sustained injuries following the wreck.
Meanwhile, officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down for several hours after the collision. The cause of the fatal Sunnyvale crash is still under investigation.
