SUNNYVALE: Motorcyclist Injured in Highway 85 Crash

SUNNYVALE, California (October 9, 2014) –  The driver of a  blue minivan struck and injured a motorcyclist Thursday morning on the northbound State Route 85, near the Highway 82 on ramp, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.

About 11:19 a.m., CHP officers say a blue minivan reportedly was stopped in a lane and attempting to merger over towards an exit when it struck a motorcyclist in the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway.  A SigAlert was issued about 11:39 a.m. due to all lanes being blocked.

Paramedics responded and CPR was in progress immediately after the crash. Police called for an evidence tow and will investigate the circumstances further.

“Hopefully those injured have a full recovery,” said Attorney James Johnson. “Police will investigate this crash to determine liability and then they will issue a report with their findings.”
