Dump Truck and Nisan Murano Collide at Intersection
SUNOL, ALAMEDA COUNTY (July 18, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, an injurious collision involving a dump truck was reported this afternoon at or near the cross streets of Calaveras and Welch Creek roads.
At approximately 12:20 p.m., a dump truck and an alleged brown Nissan Murano collided triggering injuries to at least one person, the driver of the Nissan.
Driver of Nissan Hospitalized
The motorist behind the wheel of the vehicle suffered moderate to serious injuries and was transported from the crash site to a nearby medical center for immediate treatment of undisclosed injuries.
No injuries were incurred by the dump truck driver.
Meanwhile, both eastbound and westbound lanes on what appeared to have been Calaveras Road were temporarily shut down for at least an hour while CHP officials perused the scene to gather forensic evidence.
No details have been released in regards to what happened and the cause of the accident as authorities were still on scene as of 1:30 p.m.
