Woman Killed in Pedestrian Versus Motorcycle Hit-and-run Crash
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (April 15, 2021) – Susan Fernandez, 61, of San Clemente, was struck by a motorcycle and killed Wednesday at El Camino Real and Boca De La Playa.
A suspect riding a motorcycle struck the San Clemente woman about 9:50 p.m., according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver, later identified as Adam Horner, 38, of San Clemente, fled the scene without stopping to help the victim. Meanwhile, Susan Fernandez suffered major injuries in the collision and died at the scene. The Orange County Sheriff Coroner identified the victim after her family members were notified.
Additionally, the arrest of the motorcyclist was possible after witnesses gave a description of the motorcycle to police. Roughly 30 minutes after the collision, police located Horner and arrested him.
He remains in jail facing felony hit-and-run charges in lieu of $50,000 bail. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Susan Fernandez as they cope with this tragedy.
