The deceased victim has been identified as 67-year-old Susan Williams, of Bodega Bay. Williams was a marine biologist from the UC Davis Bodega Marine Laboratory.

As per the article, officials said a 19-year-old male driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was going west on Lakeville Highway when for an unknown reason he crossed the double yellow lines directly into oncoming traffic.

The Silverado collided with the Toyota Prius driven by Williams, and then slammed into a Honda Accord. Three other vehicles ultimately became involved in the crash.

Police affirmed that Williams died as a result of the wreck which occurred just before 7:15 a.m. near South McDowell Boulevard Extension.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old motorist and his 50-year-old passenger were seriously injured and were transported to a hospital for treatment. The 22-year-old operator of the Honda was also hospitalized. The injuries sustained by the three patients were considered as non-life-threatening.

Wrongful Death and Personal Injury Lawyer

It appears that the operator of the Chevrolet Silverado will be held responsible for causing the chain reaction crash that led to the death of Ms. Susan Williams and the injuries of other individuals. However, a thorough investigation will still be conducted to determine whether or not that motorist was under the alcohol or drugs at the time, whether or not there were any mechanical issues with the Silverado, and whether or not the 19-year-old driver was distracted or speeding prior to impact.

In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, the surviving family members of Ms. Williams, as well as those injured and not responsible for the crash, may be entitled to a wrongful death or personal injury claim pending the results of the investigation.

Victims are entitled to a compensation for all the hospital bills, funeral costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and loss of love and companionship.
