Susan Williams, 67, Killed in Petaluma Head-On Crash on Lakeville Highway
PETALUMA (April 24, 2018) – A woman was killed after a traffic collision on Lakeville Highway that also injured three people Tuesday morning, according to The Press Democrat.
The deceased victim has been identified as 67-year-old Susan Williams, of Bodega Bay. Williams was a marine biologist from the UC Davis Bodega Marine Laboratory.
As per the article, officials said a 19-year-old male driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was going west on Lakeville Highway when for an unknown reason he crossed the double yellow lines directly into oncoming traffic.
3 Injured in Car Accident on Lakeville Highway
The Silverado collided with the Toyota Prius driven by Williams, and then slammed into a Honda Accord. Three other vehicles ultimately became involved in the crash.
Police affirmed that Williams died as a result of the wreck which occurred just before 7:15 a.m. near South McDowell Boulevard Extension.
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old motorist and his 50-year-old passenger were seriously injured and were transported to a hospital for treatment. The 22-year-old operator of the Honda was also hospitalized. The injuries sustained by the three patients were considered as non-life-threatening.
The incident remains under investigation.
