Susanna Angeles, 34, Killed in Fillmore Crash on Highway 126 Near Spalding
FILLMORE, CA (February 22, 2021) – A car crash killed Susanna Angeles and injured several others along Highway 126 in Fillmore.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 34-year-old Fowler woman as one of the victims in the fatal accident on Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened on February 21 when Susanna Angeles was driving a 2008 Smart Fortwo east on Highway 126, west of Spalding Drive. At the same time, a 2013 BMW 325i sedan was going westbound.
The driver of the BMW, 27-year-old Eric Anthony Carrillo, then crossed over double-yellow lines into eastbound traffic for an unknown reason.
CHP said the Oxnard resident struck the 2-seat subcompact car head-on. He continued westbound in the eastbound lanes and ultimately slammed head-on into a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche.

A 25-year-old Fresno man ended up ejected from the Smart car as a result of the collision. Paramedics rushed him to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.
Medical personnel treated the 62-year-old Santa Clarita woman driving the Chevrolet and her passenger, a 57-year-old Acton man, for minor injuries they suffered upon impact.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that all five people wore their seat belts when the wreck took place. The area is between Santa Paula and Fillmore.
Authorities forced Highway 126 to shut down in both directions for several hours following the crash. The fatal collision is still under investigation.
