SUSANVILLE (October 13, 2016)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old boy who has not been properly identified was the victim of a deadly hit-and-run pedestrian collision Tuesday evening.
At roughly 7:00 p.m., California Highway Patrol officials responded to a collision involving a 2002 Chevy pickup and a teenager from Janesville along Johnstonville Road.
The driver of the pickup truck, Juan Ruiz Esqueda, 61, allegedly struck the teen with the left front of his vehicle and fled the scene.
Paramedics responded to the crash site and confirmed the teen had tragically passed from his injuries incurred from the blow.
A short while later Esqueda was located and arrested by police officials.
No further details have been released at this time.
