Teen Riding e-Bike Dragged by Suspect in Pickup Truck
REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 6, 2022) — A person suspected of hitting a teen riding an e-bike in Redondo Beach last month and dragging the boy underneath the vehicle has been arrested on hit-and-run charges.
The hit-and-run crash occurred back on Sept. 17th and was caught on a nearby home’s doorbell camera, according to KTLA 5 News.
A driver in a white pickup truck struck the 15-year-old boy as he rode it home with a friend. The bicycle and the teenager became lodged underneath the front of the pickup truck and the driver kept going, but eventually stopped. The teen managed to get out on his own and then the pickup driver backed up, drove around the bike and fled without stopping to help the boy.
The mother of Lebron Evans created a GoFundMe account and another mom contacted her with information that led to the suspect’s arrest.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Rolling Hills Estate area on Tuesday and subsequently arrested the motorist.
There are no further details about the Redondo Beach hit-and-run at this time.
