SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 19, 2020) — A major-injury crash on Highway 113 was reported Thursday morning near Yuba City.
The head-on crash involved a semi-tractor trailer truck, a sedan and a white Toyota minivan, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The sedan was reportedly “destroyed” on the opposite side of the highway. The truck wound up in a ditch, the report said. The minivan was also badly damaged and required towing. One of the vehicles overturned in the crash, but the CHP report did not specify which vehicle. Fortunately, no one was trapped in any of the vehicles.
Additionally, responding paramedics treated at least one person for major injuries. The injured were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
It’s unknown what led up to the collision, but there were witnesses. One of the witnesses continued driving after the collision and called 911 to report the crash.
Meanwhile, police are heading up an investigation into liability. Witnesses are urged to contact the CHP.
