Sutter County: Fatal Crash on Highway 99

Man Killed in Collision at SR-99 and Oswald Road

Sutter County, CA (March 19, 2023) – A 30-year-old man died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of State Route Highway 99 and Oswald Road.

According to ABC10 and KCRA3 News, a semi truck and a 2023 Toyota Tacoma crashed into each other at the intersection in Sutter County Sunday afternoon, March 19. Earlier reports indicated the driver of the truck drove into the path of the Tacoma heading north on the highway. Due to the force from the impact, the sedan ended up wedged underneath the trailer of the big rig.

Deadly Traffic Accident in Sutter County

Emergency crews responded to the accident scene shortly after 12:05 p.m. When paramedics arrived, they immediately rendered aid to the two drivers involved in the catastrophic collision. Medical personnel later pronounced the driver of the Tacoma dead. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the fatal victim remained undisclosed.

The driver of the truck stayed in the area and cooperated with the investigation process. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the fatal crash that happened at Highway 99 and Oswald Road in Sutter County.
