Suzanne Russell, 43, Victim in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run
DATE OF INCIDENT: Thursday, May 24th
May 30, 2018– According to the Sacramento Bee, Suzanne Russell, 43, has been identified as the woman fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver last week on Stockton Boulevard near Lawrence Drive.
The collision occurred around 3:00 a.m. while the 43-year-old woman attempted to cross the road while in a wheelchair before being struck by a passing vehicle headed southbound on Stockton.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and proceeded to flee the scene leaving Russell behind with grave injuries which emergency personnel sadly pronounced her dead from at the scene.
Authorities are unsure at this time whether the victim was in a bicycle lane or in the middle of the road upon being struck.
No details were provided on the hit-and-run vehicle or the suspect as the Sacramento Police Department carry out an investigation to find the person responsible.
