Man Dies a Month After Hit-and-Run Collision in Long Beach
Long Beach, CA (March 25, 2023) – Sy Thongdy, a 76-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries a month after a pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Pasadena Avenue.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach
According to Long Beach Post News, Thongdy was crossing the street on February 19, Sunday, around 6:34 p.m. While in the middle of the roadway, a passing motorist struck the pedestrian. The collision resulted in injuries to the 76-year-old man. Responding paramedics rendered first aid to the injured person, then transported him to a hospital for further treatment of multiple injuries–including broken ribs, and fractured neck bone. The article published online mentioned the condition of Thongdy quickly deteriorated. On March 24, Friday, the patient sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Our sources indicated the driver that hit Sy Thongdy fled the scene before police arrived. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect in the horrible crash.
