
Sylmar crash Foothill Boulevard
1 Killed, 1 Injured in Sylmar Crash on Foothill Boulevard Near Supermarket
SYLMAR, CA (November 27, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured another on Foothill Boulevard near a supermarket in Sylmar.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and ABC 7 News, the tragic accident took place on Sunday. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 11:45 a.m.
The incident began when a Prius was leaving the parking lot of the Vallarta Supermarkets at 13820 Foothill Boulevard in the Sylmar neighborhood.
A teenage boy driving a sedan tried to avoid the Prius. He swerved at a high rate of speed and went into the northbound lanes off Foothill Boulevard.
2 Cars Collide
Los Angeles police said in the process, the sedan slammed head-on into a silver Toyota pickup truck. The boy then struck a pole in the area.
Firefighters arrived and soon pronounced the teen dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup, a 56-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, police forced a stretch of Foothill Boulevard to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Sylmar crash is still under investigation.
