1 Injured in Sylmar Hit-and-Run Crash on 210 Freeway Near Polk Street
SYLMAR, CA (October 18, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on the 210 Freeway near Polk Street in Sylmar.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Sunday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 1:41 p.m.
CHP said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Sylmar on October 17. They crashed on the westbound side of the 210 Freeway, just east of Polk Street.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found one person who complained of pain as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the victim to the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that a female driver involved initially stopped after hitting the other car. She exited her vehicle, went back in and and then sped away.
Officers forced the westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway to shut down near Polk Street following the wreck. The cause of the Sylmar hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
