Woman Killed, Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash on 6th Street Saturday
Taft, CA (December 27, 2020) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a traffic collision on 6th Street, the Taft Midway Driller reported.
Authorities said the accident took place in front of a 7-11 store in the 1100 block of 6th Street.
According to the news article, a motorcycle with two occupants crashed for an unknown reason in the 1100 block of 6th Street. Officials said the motorbike careened off the roadway and struck a curb.
Deadly Motorcycle Accident in Taft, December 26
First responders found at the scene a woman lying on the roadway. Medical personnel performed life-savings measures to the female rider, but she sadly succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene. Police continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Officers added the driver, a 22-year-old Taft resident, had to be airlifted to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Additional details on the patient have not been revealed thus far.
Several factors surrounding the catastrophic incident remained unclear. Given that, investigators handling the case continue to work to determine the precise cause of the motorcycle accident in Taft.
