Major Crash on State Route 89

TAHOE CITY, Calif. (August 31, 2023) — A major injury motorcycle accident in Tahoe City happened Wednesday on Highway 89 also known as Lake Boulevard.

The collision occurred around 4:27 p.m. on August 30th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials initially reported a driver hit a pedestrian, but then updated the report to say a vehicle and a motorcycle were involved.

The rider was thrown off the bike into the roadway during the collision.

Cal Fire responded with paramedics to help the injured rider and transport the person to a hospital. The victim’s motorcycle was taken to a friend’s house after the crash, the report said.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the motorcycle accident on Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City.
