The accident involving two vehicles occurred at 2:13 p.m., just south of Gilman Springs Road.
In an article by The Press Enterprise, CHP officials said both cars were traveling at a high rate of speed when one vehicle cut off the other.
Both then plunged about 30 feet down an embankment and rolled over. They came to a stop in a farm.
The CHP affirmed Filetti, the driver of one of the vehicles, and Jones, a passenger in the second vehicle, sadly died at the scene. driving the other vehicle was transported to a hospital to be treated major injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle Jones was in was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition with major injuries.
Meanwhile, a witness told CHP that the cars were apparently racing, going higher than 70 mph at the time. The incident remains under investigation.
