Officer Injured in Collision at Sisk and Whitcomb
Modesto, CA (June 11, 2022) – Police identified 33-year-old Tajz Wells as the suspect in the injury traffic crash that occurred in the area of Sisk Road and Whitcomb Way.
The Modesto Bee News reported Wells, of Stockton, was traveling in the streets of Modesto Monday evening. Our sources indicated Wells blew through a stop sign at the intersection of Sisk and Whitcomb. In the process, the dark Nissan Versa collided into the front of a patrol car.
The crash took place at about 7:42 p.m.
Tajz Wells Suspect in Modesto DUI Crash
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found Wells pinned inside the mangled Versa. Responding firefighters worked extensively to extricate the victim. After rescue teams pulled out the driver, they transported him to a hospital for treatment. Investigators later determined Wells was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Due to the condition of the suspect, he remained at the hospital and has not yet been taken into custody.
According to the article published online, a Modesto police officer suffered injuries in the accident. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the victim pending confirmation.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
