Vehicles Fatally Struck Man on New Stine Road
Bakersfield, CA (May 13, 2023) – Tanner Austin Abernathy, a 30-year-old man, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on New Stine Road.
The KGET and Bakersfield Now News reported a vehicle struck a male party in the 600 block of New Stine Road just north of Belle Terrace. Officials said the horrible crash took place on May 9, Tuesday, around 9:55 p.m.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the pedestrian suffering in injuries and lying on the ground. Responding paramedics performed life-saving efforts to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office recently identified the deceased as Tanner Austin Abernathy, of Bakersfield.
No immediate information was available on the driver involved in the unfortunate event. At this time, detectives handling the case continue to investigate exactly how and why the deadly accident happened on New Stine Road in Bakersfield.
