Vanessa Murillo Arrested After Deadly Crash on Fork Drive
THREE RIVERS, Tulare County (August 19, 2017) – One person was killed and multiple others were injured in a solo-vehicle accident on North Fork Drive Friday evening, according to Fresnobee.
The accident involved a blue Hyundai Elantra traveling south on Fork Drive at approximately 8:00 p.m.
Initial investigation revealed the crash happened when the driver, 20-year-old Vanessa Murillo, veered onto the shoulder at a curve on the road and then over-corrected.
The Elantra subsequently spun out of control and crossed both lanes. Then, the vehicle struck a boulder and became airborne. Emergency personnel found the Elantra landed on its roof after apparently hitting a tree at the area.
Three Rivers Fatal DUI Accident
The incident led to the death of one male backseat passenger, officials said. As per the article, the man broke his neck in the crash and died at the scene. Reports mentioned the fatality’s name was not yet released pending next of kin notification.
Further, responding paramedics located at the site two other passengers injured. The victims were identified as 21-year-old Casandra Diaz, and 20-year-old Tanya Cisneros. Diaz suffered a broken pelvis and both legs while Cisneros had a broken left collarbone and left leg, and complaint of neck pain.
Reports mentioned the Elantra had four passengers at the time of the collision but no immediate information was disclosed on the condition of the fourth passenger.
Meanwhile, Murillo reportedly suffered lacerations to her head and left leg and had an abrasion to her left arm. Authorities affirmed Murillo was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
At this time, investigators are still gathering more information related to the deadly incident.
