Children Injured After Car Accident at East Cliff Drive and Assembly Avenue

March 20, 2019 – An alleged drunk driver struck pole and injured multiple pedestrian in the area of East Cliff Drive and Assembly Avenue, KION News reported.
The accident happened on March 16, Saturday, at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Per article, 65-year-old Tarmo Hannula was traveling eastbound on East Cliff Drive when his car left the road. The man then hit a parked car, and continue driving until it slammed into a signpost. That signpost apparently that fell and hit three pedestrians.
Officials said the victims were all from Lathrop ranging in age from 14 to 49-years-old. All injured pedestrians were taken to Dominican Hospital for treatment of what appeared to be moderate injuries.

When CHP arrived at the location, they assessed Hannula and determined he was intoxicated at that time. The man was arrested for suspicion of DUI causing injury.
