Ted Hoots, 67, Killed in Victorville Golf Cart Crash Near Innovation and Phantom
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 12, 2021) – A golf cart accident killed Ted Hoots near Innovation Way and Phantom West in Victorville.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the 67-year-old Adelanto man as the victim of the fatal crash on Sunday night.
The incident happened on April 11 when Ted Hoots was riding a golf cart in Victorville. He was traveling southbound on Phantom West near Innovation Way at the time.
Driver Hits Golf Cart on Sunday, April 11
Deputies said for an unknown reason, a vehicle going in the same direction hit the golf cart from behind. A press release by the sheriff’s department reported the collision at about 9:26 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and found Ted Hoots suffering from major injuries as a result of the crash. They soon pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, officers did not mention if the other driver involved ended up hurt or if they stopped after colliding with the golf cart. Authorities forced the road to shut down for a time following the accident.
The tragic Victorville collision is still under investigation.
