Ted Zuidema Motorcycle Accident at Balboa Avenue in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 20, 2026) — Ted Daniel Zuidema, 67, of Santee, died March 12th after a motorcycle crash on Balboa Avenue in San Diego, authorities said.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 5:44 a.m. at Balboa Avenue and Viewridge Avenue, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner. According to officials, Zuidema was riding a motorcycle when it collided with a pickup truck under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Emergency responders were called to the scene and transported Zuidema to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead at 7:10 a.m.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be blunt force injuries, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.
The crash remains under investigation by the San Diego Police Department. Authorities have not released additional details about the pickup truck driver or any other potential injuries.
