Teen Girl Struck and Killed While Crossing El Camino Del Norte in Encinitas
Seraphina Rose Fadick Identified as Pedestrian Killed

ENCINITAS, Calif. (July 14, 2026) — A 17-year-old Encinitas girl was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing El Camino Del Norte Friday evening in Encinitas, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The pedestrian was later identified as Seraphina Rose Fadick, of Encinitas.
Emergency personnel responded to the 2700 block of El Camino Del Norte at approximately 7:16 p.m. on July 10 following reports that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway. Despite lifesaving efforts, Fadick was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:23 p.m.
The Medical Examiner determined that Fadick died from blunt force injuries to the head. Her death was ruled an accident, and no contributing medical conditions were identified.
Authorities have not released details about the circumstances leading up to the collision, including whether the driver remained at the scene, whether speed or impairment are suspected factors, or whether Fadick was crossing in a marked crosswalk.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the fatal collision. No additional information has been released regarding potential citations or criminal charges.
