Boy, 14, Struck in Fresno Crosswalk at Thorne and Ashlan Avenues
FRESNO, Calif.(December 2, 2021) – A teenage boy was injured Thursday in a pedestrian accident at Ashlan and Thorne avenues in Fresno.
A driver in a pickup truck struck the 14-year-old boy about 8 a.m. The teenage was walking to school in a crosswalk at the intersection.
Paramedics responded and rushed him by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
CHP officials reported the driver stopped and called 911 for help. The man told police he did not see the boy in the roadway.
Investigators with the CHP do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
No arrests or charges were filed against the driver.
The case remains under investigation and police will determine fault for the collision.
