Boy, 15, Struck and Killed
SAN JOSE, Calif. (June 7, 2023) — Justin Estira, 15, died in a pedestrian accident early Wednesday on Rinconada Drive in San Jose’s Canoas Garden neighborhood.
A driver struck the Willow Glen High School student in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Rinconada Drive, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The traffic accident occurred about 12:56 a.m. on June 7th in the 2400 block of Rinconada Drive, according to NBC Bay Area News.
Paramedics responded and located the teen trapped underneath the vehicle, but were unable to save his life after they pulled him out.
It’s unknown what led up to the collision at this time. However, authorities closed down a portion of Rinconada Drive for several hours to conduct an investigation into the San Jose pedestrian accident.
News outlets reported the death is the 19th fatal collision in San Jose and 12th pedestrian death of 2023.
