Teen on Electric Bicycle Killed Crossing Highland Avenue in Selma

Manuel Uriel Hernandez Nolasco, 15, Identified as Crash Victim

SELMA, Calif. (June 22, 2026) — A 15-year-old boy riding home from school on an electric bicycle was struck and killed a week ago in Selma crossing Highland Avenue at Rose Avenue.

It was around 1:30 pm, on Tuesday, June 16th when Manuel Uriel Hernandez Nolasco attempted to cross the busy street on his bike and was hit by a vehicle traveling on the same road. The driver stopped and cooperated with the authorities.

Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the injured boy to the hospital; however, he later died due to severe injuries.

The family has a GoFundMe to cover medical and funeral costs after the teen’s death.

“His family, including his twin brother, mom, and dad, are facing unimaginable grief and were not prepared for such a sudden loss,” said Andrea Lopez, the organizer of the fundraiser.
