Teen Riding Mini Bike Killed in Hit-and-run Crash on San Pedro Street
Teenage Boy Killed in Collision at Century Boulevard and San Pedro Street
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2025) — Hayden Neighbors, 16, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning on San Pedro Street in South Los Angeles.
The deadly collision occurred around 2 a.m. on Feb. 23rd, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The teen and his passenger were riding the bike northbound on San Pedro Street, just north of 99th Street, the LAPD said.
A driver in a northbound black Toyota Corolla struck the victims from behind, but failed to stop and help them. Police are searching for the suspect described as a male Hispanic possibly in his 20’s with a heavy build, the LAPD said.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the juvenile victim deceased on scene.
The mini motorcycle wedged under the front end of the car when it was found abandoned nearby. The suspect fled on foot, police said.
There is surveillance footage of the collision and anyone with information about the suspect should contact the LAPD.

Finally, the Los Angeles City Council offers a reward of up to $50,000 for information that leads to the suspect’s identification, apprehension, and conviction from its Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund.
