Boy Struck By Motorist, Seriously Injured Western Ave
BUENA PARK, Calif. (Dec. 19, 2018) – A 13-year-old boy was seriously hurt when he was struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon near Knotts Berry Farm, police said.
The teenage boy was hit by the vehicle about 5:45 p.m. on Western Avenue near Crescent Avenue, the Buena Park police and the Orange County Fire Authority said.
Paramedics transported the injured boy to Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Orange where he is being treated for traumatic injuries, fire officials said.
Police closed down Western Avenue between Crescent and Lincoln avenues to investigate the collision and determine fault.

At this time, it is unknown why the driver did not yield the right-of-way to the teenager. Pedestrians always have the right-of-way, but at times may put themselves at danger by crossing outside of a marked or unmarked crosswalk.
It’s unknown at this time whether or not any criminal charges will be brought against the driver.
