Teenagers Killed in Crash at Rinaldi Street and Zelzah Avenue in Granada Hills

GRANADA HILLS, Calif. (June 9, 2025) — Andrew Lemus, 19, and his passenger, Charley Rasooli, 17, both died in a high-speed crash at Rinaldi Street and Zelzah Avenue in Granada Hills.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff-Coroner identified both teens on its website.

The crash occurred at 12:49 a.m. on Sunday, June 8th at the Granada Hills intersection, just north of the 118 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A 19-year-old man and his 17-year-old male passenger were traveling in an Acura coupe at high speed in the eastbound lanes of Rinaldi Street. The motorist reportedly lost control and crashed into a retaining wall, police said. Both the driver and his passenger suffered major injuries and died at the scene.

The circumstances leading up to the crash are under investigation.
