1 Badly Injured in Tehachapi Big Rig Crash on Highway 58 Near Broome
TEHACHAPI, CA (May 22, 2022) – A big rig crash left one person badly injured on Highway 58 near Broome Road in Tehachapi.
According to an article published by the Bakersfield Now, the accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on May 19 at about 1:20 p.m.
The incident happened when a big rig loaded with wine was parked on the shoulder of eastbound Highway 58, east of Broome Road, in Tehachapi.
2 Trucks Collide
For an unknown reason, another big rig carrying broccoli slammed into the stopped truck. The California Highway Patrol said at least one of the vehicles caught fire upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found a driver of one big rig who sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the eastbound lanes of Highway 58 to shut down about five to seven miles from Broome following the wreck. The cause of the Tehachapi crash is still under investigation.
