Bike Rider Seriously Injured in Tehachapi Crash at Backes and Highline
TEHACHAPI, CA (September 25, 2021) – A bike rider was seriously injured after a crash at Backes Lane and Highline Road in Tehachapi.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Saturday morning. Officers reported the incident at about 9:55 a.m.
CHP said a red Toyota Tacoma struck a person riding a bike in Tehachapi. The two collided at the intersection of Backes Lane and Highline Road.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the rider who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist in the car stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. Officers forced the area of Backes Lane and Highline Road to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Tehachapi crash is still under investigation.
