Man Killed in Crash at Tehachapi Boulevard and Highway 58 On-Ramp
TEHACHAPI (May 20, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed after a traffic collision in the area of Tehachapi Boulevard and Highway 58 on Tuesday evening.
According to reports by the Kern Golden Empire and 23 ABC News, the fatal accident took place on May 19 at approximately 7:25 p.m.
The incident began when a car was driving west on East Tehachapi Boulevard. At the same time, a male pedestrian was walking northbound.
Police said the driver allegedly failed to yield to a red light at the intersection with the Highway 58 eastbound on-ramp and struck the man in a marked crosswalk.

Paramedics responded to the scene and found the victim lying on the ground and suffering from major injuries as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel then rushed the man to Adventist Health Tehachapi, where he later died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist involved stopped after hitting the victim and cooperated with the authorities. The cause of the tragic incident remains under investigation.
