TEHACHAPI: Major Injury Crash, Big Rig Jackknifed, Multiple Vehicles on Highway 58

TEHACHAPI, California (October 14, 2015) — A big rig truck jackknifed and collided with four other vehicles Wednesday afternoon in a major-injury crash on State Route Barstow Bakersfield Highway 58 at Dennison Road, a California Highway Patrol report said.

The crash took place about 1:04 p.m.  Police reported a man and woman were in the roadway following the crash involving the semi-tractor trailer truck, a black Toyota Prius, a blue Frod pickup truck, a Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck and other vehicles. Paramedics responded to transported those who were injured and at least one person was airlifted with major injuries to Kern County Medical Center.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene of the crash to help in the investigation.

A full police report is pending the completion of the investigation.
