2 Killed in Tehama County Crash on Highway 99 Near Vina
TEHAMA COUNTY, CA (May 13, 2022) – A car crash killed at least one person on Highway 99 near Vina in Tehama County.
According to the Action News Now and KRCRTV, the tragic accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 4:20 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said at least two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Tehama County. They crashed on Highway 12, south of Vina.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described the cars as a Chevy sedan and a Cadillac sedan. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Butte County line.
Medical personnel confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 99 to shut down in both directions from Rowles Road to Haille Road following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Tehama County crash is still under investigation.
