Tehama County: Rollover Car Crash on Highway 99

At Least 1 Hurt in Collision Near South Avenue

Tehama County, CA (February 24, 2023) – A traffic accident that occurred in the area of Highway 99 and South Avenue resulted in injuries, according to Action News Now.

Earlier reports indicated a Toyota Prius and a semi truck collided on the highway Thursday, February 23. Preliminary investigation revealed the man behind the wheel of the Prius attempted to pass the big rig traveling in front of them In the process of passing the truck, the Prius went underneath the trailer. Officials said the car got stuck, then rolled over.

Minor Injury Car Accident on Highway 99 in Tehama County

Shortly after 6 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the accident scene. Responding paramedics immediately checked the conditions of all the occupants in the Prius. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed the driver sustained minor head injury; and complained of pain to their neck, back, and shoulder.

The operator of the big rig appeared unharmed after the incident.

At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the traffic crash that happened at Highway 99 and South Avenue in Tehama County.
