TEMECULA, California (July 13, 2015) —The quick actions of two young people may have saved the life of their sibling who was being attacked by a pit bull dog.
Three juveniles ages 4, 14 and 15 years old were injured by a family friend’s vicious pit bull dog who attacked them Saturday afternoon at a home in the 40000 block of Chantemar Way, a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report said.
The Temecula Police Department responded to the home about 4:49 p.m. and found the dog confined in a bathroom after the attack.
The dog allegedly attacked one of the children who was playing. The child’s actions may have been mistaken for aggression, police said. The two other children intervened and all three siblings were attacked. The injuries were mostly to their arms.
The most seriously injured child was airlifted to a hospital in San Diego for injuries to both arms and the others were treated at local hospitals.
