TEMECULA, California (August 26, 2014) – A big rig truck and four cars collided Tuesday morning on the southbound Interstate 15 Freeway, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 6:49 a.m., CHP officers responded to the crash involving a green Acura Integra, a white Mazda 3, a red Toyota Prius, a white Volvo sedan and a big rig truck with an 80,000-pound load that was blocking the middle two lanes of the freeway, just south of Winchester Road.
CAL FIRE/Riverside Fire Department firefighters and paramedics responded to the crash to assist those injured including one person who suffered a neck and back injury in the crash. Police say others may also have been hurt in the crash, but there was no further information.
Police are heading up an investigation into the crash to determine liability.
“Many people who are hurt in car accidents do not feel symptoms until a few hours later or the following day,” said Attorney James Johnson. “It’s important to start treatment immediately after you realize you are injured for the best possible recovery.”
