Border Agent Hit and Injured by Vehicle Near Rainbow Valley Boulevard Monday
Temecula, CA (December 13, 2021) – A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer suffered injuries following a suspected DUI collision on the Interstate 15 Freeway.
The NBC San Diego News reported the Border Patrolman was conducting routine checkpoints on northbound I-15 early Monday morning. Preliminary investigation revealed the agen was standing within the checkpoint stop zone, in the middle of the No. 2 lane.
Per article published online, the crash happened when an oncoming 2013 Mini Cooper failed to slow down. The allegedly intoxicated driver struck the Border Patrolman. Due to the force from the impact, the agent became airborne and landed on the traffic lanes of the freeway.
The accident took place at approximately 2:30 a.m.

Medical personnel at the scene immediately rendered aid to the agent. Our sources mentioned the victim was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment of major injuries.
