Wrong-way Driver Causes Head-on Rollover Crash Near South Coast Winery Resort
The crash was reported at 8:09 p.m. and both the Mazda pickup and the Toyota sedan were blocking traffic. One of the vehicles overturned and landed back on its wheels, but it was heavily damaged and occupants in both vehicles were trapped. One of the vehicles was smoking after the crash and firefighters with the Riverside Fire Department were sent to help free all those involved.
A retired police officer told authorities that one of the vehicles was driving the wrong way prior to crashing with the other one.
Police are investigating the crash and will report on their findings of liability.
