September 12, 2018 – A driver and a passenger were both injured after their car collided into a logging truck on Highway 29 Monday evening, according to a local news source.
Auto VS Truck Accident Monday in San Andreas
Primary reports indicated 29-year-old Jay Stufflet, of San Andreas, was driving a 2005 Ford Focus along Beverlynn Lane and pulled out onto the highway. At the same time, a 2013 Kenworth logging truck was passing in the northbound lane of the highway and crashed into the smaller vehicle.
62-year-old truck operator Clifford Stormes, of Grant Pass, claimed he saw the vehicle but was unable to stop on time to avoid collision.
Responding paramedics immediately rendered aid to Stufflet and his passenger, 33-year-old Teri Neikirk, who both appeared to be seriously injured in the wreck. Officials said Neikirk was flown to Doctors Medical Center, while Stufflet was taken to Memorial Medical Center. The conditions of the patients remained unknown at this time.
Meanwhile, no information was released on the condition of Stormes after the wreck.
Investigators believed Stufflet did not yield right of way, leading to the crash. The detectives handling the case continue to work to determine exactly what happened here and why.

A forensic examination of the 2005 Ford Focus and the 2013 Kenworth logging truck involved, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will be made to help investigators determine the liability in the accident. Other potential factors will be looked into as well including whether or not a driver was under the influence at the time of the accident, whether or not a motorist was distracted, operating the vehicle recklessly, or traveling over the speed limit prior to impact. Each of these factors plus several others will be assessed allowing police officials to draw up a final conclusion.
Pending results of the investigation, the victim may have the right to a personal injury claim. Victims in similar cases are potentially entitled to seek compensation for damages including medical expenses, and pain and suffering.
