Pickup Hanging Over Edge of Bridge in San Joaquin County
San Joaquin County, Calif. (August 13, 2024) — At least one person suffered major injuries Tuesday in a 3-vehicle car accident in Terminous on Highway 12, near Tower Park Way.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision at 4:36 a.m. on August 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol. There was also a solo-vehicle crash with no injuries at the scene.
Two people were trapped in a white Ford pickup truck that was hanging halfway over the Little Potato Slough bridge. Firefighters responded to rescue them from the vehicle which had major front-end damage.
The pickup collided with a grey vehicle, but it’s unknown which one. The other cars involved were a grey Acura sedan, a grey Honda Civic, and a red 2016 Honda Civic, the report said. The grey Honda had major front-end damage and the Acura had moderate front-end damage. Someone in the red Honda was unable to get out because their door was stuck.
Police closed down several westbound lanes due to the crash, emergency response and cleanup of a gas spill.
Paramedics transported at least one person with major injuries to a hospital, but there are no further details.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the 3-vehicle crash and determine what caused the solo collision.
