Terry Taylor, 54, Injured in Bakersfield Fatal Car Crash at Curnow and Union
BAKERSFIELD (May 13, 2020) – A driver injured after a fatal traffic collision in the area of Curnow Road and Union Avenue on Tuesday has been identified.
The California Highway Patrol said 54-year-old Terry Taylor was one of the wounded parties in the deadly accident which occurred on May 12.
Officers determined that the incident began when Taylor was driving a Nissan Titan south on South Union Ave at 55 mph, approaching Curnow Road.
At the same time, a Nissan Sentra headed west on Curnow stopped at the stop sign at Union. Its operator, 71-year-old Gurmit Singh Rai, then entered the intersection westbound.

According to an article published by Kern Golden Empire, the elderly motorist alleged failed to see the Titan in the process and the two cars ultimately collided.
Paramedics responded and provided aid to the occupants of the Titan, including Taylor, for minor injuries. They reportedly declined to be hospitalized.
Meanwhile, the right rear passenger of the Sentra died at the scene. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office named the deceased party as 58-year-old Jarnail Singh.
The right-front passenger of the Sentra suffered major injuries while Gurmit Singh Rai sustained minor wounds upon impact. Medical personnel took both to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, authorities temporarily closed the southbound lanes of Union Avenue following the wreck. The tragic crash remains under investigation.
