Double Fatality at Las Posas Road and Laguna Road

CAMARILLO, Calif. (July 12, 2019) — Teruyo Washington, 71, and his passenger, Lawrence Washington, 76, both died in a collision Thursday night in the Oxnard Plains near Camarillo.
The two Camarillo residents riding in a 2009 Honda that was struck by another motorist who failed to stop at a stop sign at Las Posas Road and Laguna Road, just northwest of Point Mugu State Park, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
Both Teruyo Washington and Lawrence Washington were wearing seat belts when a black Dodge Challenger hit them about 7:50 p.m. last night. The Honda ended up overturned in a ditch near the intersection.
The Dodge Challenger was reportedly heading east on Laguna Road when its driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign.
Anthony Zaragosa, 21, of Oxnard, was one of three people riding in the Dodge Challenger who were injured
Zaragosa, and Juan Llamos, 23, of Oxnard, who was also riding in the Dodge, were both taken to Los Robles Hospital with minor injuries. The third occupant declined medical treatment. It’s unknown at this time who was driving the Dodge.
The crash remains under investigation to determine liability.
