Andre Pointer Arrested for DUI Manslaughter
Sacramento- According to the Sacramento Bee, a woman identified as Theresa McCourt, 58, has died of her injuries after being hit by a drunk driver Thursday morning, April 27th.
The incident took place right around 9:00 a.m. on 47th Avenue when she was struck by a 41-year-old man identified as Andre Pointer of Sacramento.
Theresa McCourt remained in the critical care unit over the weekend until sadly dying of her injuries Sunday evening.
Authorities were able to determine that Andre Pointer was indeed under the influence and was therefore arrested at the scene. He now faces serious charges following the death of the victim.
Per the Sacramento Bee, Theresa McCourt was a renown runner in the city of Sacramento who often ran in Marathons including her win at the Run to Feed the Hungry 10k back in 1994.
